Mémoire of a Gamer ( My Journey )

How long has it been? I HONESTLY CANNOT REMEMBER!
Video games has been always there, from playing the infamous Crash Bandicoot on PS1, until the rise of E-Sports and professional gaming industry today, I WAS ALWAYS INVOLVED! playing, watching, listening and reading …
it was my escape and my go to route whenever I felt the need to do something I’d always plug in my PS/PC and go play some games, it was as simple as that at first.

When I was a teenager I was starting to get some backlash due to my excessive hours of playing “you need to stop staring at the damn screen and stop playing these stupid games it’s only a waste of time.” I’ve understood why would they say that though, from their perspective gaming was addictive and was made to ruin someone’s life by making them waste money, time and opportunities, but from my perspective gaming saved me from anxiety and stress, I felt like I was invulnerable and safe while playing, it made me feel like myself and it made me feel like I have a purpose in this world.

I won’t lie staring at a computer screen for countless hours during the day made me feel a bit of regret at times. But then I remembered that gaming was there during my tough times, my lonely hours and when I didn’t have someone to run into, maybe it was an addiction, but damn, it saved me from my own demons. I didn’t just play because I loved it, but also because it was there, when no one else was.
